Pipe clamps

Everything you need to know about pipe fastening

Strong support for big tasks

Choosing the right pipe clamps is more than just fastening. Whether for HVAC or industrial pipe systems - choosing the right pipe clamp is far more than just a minor matter. Pipe clamps are installed and then usually forgotten. But there is such an important and major task behind the installation. We show you why pipe clamps deserve more attention.

Many requirements - different solutions

There are many different factors that need to be taken into account when selecting the pipe clamps for the construction project and you don't even know where to start? This is probably the case for many people. Many different factors play a central role in the selection of pipe clamps. Environmental influences, different temperature ranges, but also fire and noise protection can be an issue. MEFA offers pipe clamps for every individual application. But let's start with the basics: what exactly are pipe clamps and what are they used for?

The pipe clamp and its properties

Pipe clamps are fastening components that hold pipes securely to ceilings, walls or other structures. In addition to their holding function, they must also allow movement and expansion of pipes, which can be caused by temperature fluctuations, for example.

Pipe clamps can differ in terms of size, material, surface and load-bearing capacity. The closure and the connection thread also vary from clamp to clamp. There are specially tested pipe clamps for fire protection, and they can also be installed with or without sound insulation.

To find out which MEFA pipe clamp fits the requirements of the construction project, simply use the power search on our website. This filters exactly according to the properties of all products in the selected product category in order to find the right product in the shortest possible time.

The functions of pipe clamps

An assembled pipe clamp is subjected to forces from various directions. These are primarily tensile, bending and compressive forces. They are caused by the pipe itself as well as external influences such as temperature and vibration. The clamp must be designed and installed in such a way that it can absorb these forces and still hold the pipe securely in place. But that's not all. There are additional specific loads that depend on the type of installation and the environment. These include, for example, the weight of the pipe itself, which exerts force on the clamp, wind forces can act on the pipe outdoors and other components around the pipe also increase the forces.

Sound insulation inserts are often used to minimize the transmission of noise. These prevent the noise generated by water pipes or heating pipes, for example, from being heard in the associated building. This often goes hand in hand with legal requirements or standards that stipulate a certain level of sound insulation for the installation of pipes. Correct installation is the fundamental basis for every building project. MEFA offers the optimum solution for different media temperatures with sound insulation inserts made of rubber (TPE/EPDM), silicone and/or glass fiber. The stepped thread on the pipe clamps also ensures flexible connection options to the ceiling or mounting rails. The pipe clamps can also be connected to our CENTUM® profile for heavy-duty applications - for example via the direct connection.
