Since 1970, Earth Day has been a global event that takes place annually on April 22 and is intended to inspire people around the world to take action for environmental protection and sustainability. The theme for this year's Earth Day is: “You make the difference - change starts with commitment. Be part of the change.” People are using this day to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. We would also like to take this opportunity, because climate change concerns us all.
A holistic approach
In today's world, it is no longer enough to simply view products or packaging in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. The goal must be a holistic solution, from materials to production to use by the customer. Our holistic approach: GREENPLUS. Environmental protection and resource conservation begin with product development. Every new product we develop must be economically and ecologically superior to its predecessor. Conserving resources is an integral part and a key objective of product development - from the materials to the production processes. That is why we attach so much importance to:
- MEFA products made of steel and insulating liners made of TPE
- Recyclability of packaging and optimal routes within the company and to the customer
- Sustainable heating and cooling with multiQ in our own production and logistics center
When it comes to the environment, you should start on yourself
For this reason, we have been on the market since 2009 with the motto “WE ARE THE SOURCE” in the field of renewable energy with multiQ, whereby cost-efficient, environmentally conscious and tailor-made systems are used for heating and cooling residential and non-residential buildings. multiQ sees itself as a partner for industry, public bodies and private users when innovative and regenerative heating and cooling systems are required. The system components are planned and manufactured in the company's own factory in Kupferzell. The innovative and regenerative systems can be used in new buildings as well as renovations. The focus here is on “environmental heat”. Using special, thin and lightweight mats made of recyclable plastic (PP), the respective environmental heat and/or waste heat source is used sensibly. In order to become independent of oil and gas, regenerative energy sources such as sun, wind, rain, ice, geothermal energy, groundwater and process heat can be used together with brine heat pumps and low-temperature heating systems.
Pioneering
We are setting a good example with our production and logistics center in the Hohenlohe region. Thanks to the combination of our multiQ systems and the 2,000 solar modules on the roofs of our production and logistics center, we are energy self-sufficient and can save around 400 tons of CO2 per year - that's about as much as 32,000 trees. But that's not all - some of our employees also do their bit and come to work by bike almost every day. We think that's great!
